BOC Davao discuss Clearance Process during Bangsamoro Committee on Trade, Investment, and Tourism

The Bureau of Customs, Port of Davao, participated in the two-day public consultation meeting last August 9-10, 2022, at Al Nor Hotel and Convention Center, Sinsuat Avenue, Rosary Heights, Cotabato City where the proposed five (5) Bangsamoro Transition Authority Bills and an overview of the BOC clearance process were discussed.



Highlighted during the discussion are BTA Bill No. 124 on the creation of the Bangsamoro Cooperative and Social Enterprise Code (BSEC) and BTA Bill No. 157 on the promotion of Social Enterprises in the BARMM and establishment of the Bangsamoro Resilient, Inclusive, Social Enterprises (RISE), BTA Bill No. 21 on the creation of a Barter Trade Center in the BARMM and BTA Bill No. 85 on Barter Trade in the BARMM and creating the Bangsamoro Barter Trade Board, and BTA Bill No. 48 on the creation of the Bangsamoro Development Corporation.


During the meeting, BOC Davao, Collection District XII, District Collector, Atty. Erastus Sandino B. Austria represented by his Sub-port Collector in Parang, Atty. Mohammad M. Ben-Usman discussed several customs policies, accreditation and registration processes of importers and exporters, and highlighted the importance and procedures of boarding formalities being conducted on every foreign vessel arriving at the port of entry.




The said meeting was facilitated by the institutionalizing Committee on Trade, Investment, and Tourism, and was attended by different Members of the Parliament, Municipal Councilors, business operators and other stakeholders.


BOC Davao will continuously support the international trade activities and initiatives in the area, including the strengthening of the Mindanao Barter Trade.
