BOC Davao irons-out cargo releasing procedure with Partner Shipping Lines

August 24, 2022

The Bureau of Customs (BOC), Port of Davao, met with various heads and representatives of its partner Shipping Line Companies, where the said Port ironed-out issues on the return of containers and other concerns by the stakeholders relating to cargo release and container dwelling time of abandoned goods.

BOC Davao District Collector, Atty. Erastus Sandino B. Austria, CESO V, discussed the abandonment procedures of said Office and, at the same time, the auction and cargo disposal process where most of the containers remain at the various seaports due to lapsed entries for failure to file, pay and claim goods (CAO 17-2019).

With that said, BOC Davao continues to expedite the clearance of these goods through various modes of disposal (CMO 24-2021) and fasten the return of containers to various companies.

Meanwhile, District Collector Atty. Austria discussed the Port's capabilities in becoming the country's premier logistics hub to spur economic growth in Davao Region and decongest some of the major Ports in the Luzon areas.

Representatives from the participants support the said plan as long as these clients follow the prescribed rules of their service.

BOC Davao continues to talk with Its stakeholders and local government unit to materialize the logistics hub project and promote economic development in Davao Region.
